What the update fixes
- Several crashes are gone, including the one when breaching the door in Breaking New Ground.
- The After-Action Report no longer shows 0 XP after your first match. When your squad takes down a Commander, everyone gets XP and “King Slayer” progress, not just the player who landed the final blow. Story missions no longer count as completed twice.
- The ISO Nightshade’s Apex, ISO Trace, now works in DMZ. The Impact Smokes Pro trait now triggers when you are downed.
- AI enemies no longer move into areas they should not reach during Breaking New Ground, and they no longer run players over during infil.
- In Dynamic Ops and Orders, keypad-code safes no longer spawn in locked spaces, the Chemical Denial prompt at NuriGO Mall shows up on Switch 2, and the DMZ Orders text is corrected.
- The Gunsmith menu no longer sticks on screen when you deploy. Saved Blueprint mods can now be bought on Switch 2, and the Active Duty Operator can be equipped in the Showcase. Untrack Recipe no longer kicks you out of the FOB, shadows in the FOB no longer pop in, and the crashed-drone tablet turns on.
- Rocks in Hajin where you could get stuck are fixed.
- In the campaign, a progression blocker in Counter Attack (Hotel) is gone.
No more soft lock on your first FOB visit
If you sold your starting gear on your first visit to the FOB, or dismissed the Active Duty Operator carrying it, Orders and deployment could lock up. The only way out was joining a friend’s game. Since the update you can clear out your starting kit without losing access to the menus.
Performance Mode on PS5 and Xbox
On PS5 and Xbox, Performance Mode needs a 120 Hz display with VRR. Without one, the game is locked at 60 Hz. Warzone’s Performance Mode gets the same requirement with Season 1 on 6 November, so check your TV or monitor before then.
Before your next deployment
- You spawn without a parachute. Find one in Hajin or craft it.
- 2XP tokens, promo tokens included, work in DMZ. They now only count down during matches.
- Player, Weapon and DMZ Rank XP you earn now carries into multiplayer on 23 October.
The full launch patch notes should land before multiplayer opens; all the dates are in Launch week.
