Accessibility
Last updated
Metka should work well for everyone, whether you use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification or a phone. We publish this statement voluntarily. It covers all Metka pages in English and German.
Compliance status
Our benchmark is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. Metka partially conforms to these requirements. The known exceptions are listed below.
What Metka does
- Everything can be operated by keyboard, and focus is always visible as an orange outline. A “Skip to content” link bypasses the navigation.
- Text has a contrast of at least 4.5 : 1 against its background.
- Tables have column headers and captions, and sortable columns announce their sort order.
- Charts such as stat bars, the kill profile and the patch history have a text description for screen readers.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, Metka does without animation.
- All content is on the page even without JavaScript.
- Controls are at least 44 pixels in size on phones.
Known limitations
- The borders of controls such as weapon chips and filters have little contrast against the background (1.4 : 1 instead of 3 : 1). The controls are recognisable by their labels, and the selected state by a solid fill.
- On the German pages, weapon and attachment names stay in English, as in the game. They are not marked up as English, so screen readers read them with German pronunciation.
- The search in the page header needs JavaScript.
How we test
This statement is based on a self-assessment. With every change, automated tests check all page types at phone and desktop width with axe-core, along with contrast values and keyboard operation. We have not yet tested systematically with screen readers.
